i can't say i respect the JW faith, so why would i treat it better than any other religion (i don't respect those either btw)? and lurking JWs already lurk for a reason, don't worry too much about them.

Armageddon, god's bad idea

since i am free to speculate, something witnesses have been discouraged from doing, i decided to try to determine if the society and the jw's understand what armageddon will involve if it really was to happen.

of course keep in mind that jesus never mentioned it..........sooo.. let's start with a comparison of the wtbts approach to armageddon and the bibles account of the flood, ........ the first time god decided to destroy the world, or at least the first time we know about, and compare what noah and his family did to get ready and what the society is telling their rank and file.. the account of noah and the flood is filled with practical information on how to survive a really big inconvenience.

preparation was the key for survival.

and where to put all the killed angels and demons? or what if satan - given he's got control over 2/3 of all angels - actually captures jesus and kills jehovah? it's some risky business to plan an armageddon... but jehovah's probably just barking, not biting.

i have no interest in going at all!

however i have an idea and i think it would be funny.

some people are very intense when it comes to politics, religion, jws, sex, love, the arts, music and almost anything that could get them revved up..

Am I wrong about this aspect of WTS theology?

it seems to me, that if the wts is right, the only thing that would matter is that people are converted to the jw religion before armageddon.

all people throughout the thousands of years of human history will be resurrected according to them, right?

only except for those who are df'd when they die.

DFed ones are also resurrected if they die before armageddon, death deletes all sins, remember?

and yeah, the best thing for a JW to do is going on a killing spree followed by suicide. this way everyone including the martyr will be resurrected.

i knew several JWs who commited suicide, because for them it was the better choice than bear with everyday JW life.

but this is common christian theology. if a christian denies god right before he dies, he'd go to hell. if some hitler repents on his deathbed, he'd go to heaven, or probably serves some time in the purgatory before going there.

do you vacillate between caring that he/she is still entrapped in this cult and wanting to show them everything you have learned since your awakening and not wanting to rock the boat and therefore just keeping all this knowledge to yourself?

i wonder if it is normal to go back and forth like i do.

one day i want to tell my husband something i may have read here or on another forum and maybe, just maybe i will pique his interest.

wife's in, but usually not that much, we don't talk about the topic. we spend time with JWs, DFed and "worldly" people. i never DAd to make things easier... for the moment.

it's sad that someone is thinking bout that because of fear of being cast out by family.

i don't know this person, but a mutual aquaintence who knows i was a jw told me.
